Pitcher Joe Nuxhall made his major league debut with the Cincinnati Reds on June 10, 1944, at the age of 15 years, 10 months, and 11 days. He pitched for 2/3 of the 9th inning. The reds were behind 13 to 0. His line on the day was 2 hits, 5 walks, and 5 runs. Joe re-debuted in the majors in 1952. He played 16 years in the majors, 15 of which were with the Cincinnati Reds. After playing he went on to be a Reds broadcaster. His signature radio signoff phrase was “…Rounding third and heading for home“.
