How many times did it take for hall-of-famer Joe DiMaggio to be elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame?
Trivia Question Answer
Joltin’ Joe DiMaggio, the “Yankee Clipper”, was not elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame until 1955, his third year of eligibility. This is the guy with the famous record 56 game hitting streak (1941), with a lifetime batting average of .325, who played on 13 all-star teams, who played in no less than ten World Series, and who won the MVP award three times (1939, 1941, and 1947). How he could not have been elected in in his first year of eligibility staggers the imagination.
Joe DiMaggio also had a 61 game hitting streak in 1933 playing for the San Francisco Seals of the Pacific Coast League.
