Gil Hodges was the manager of the 1969 World Series Champion New York Mets. Gil played most of his career with the New York/LA Dodgers (1943, 1947–1961) but finished his playing career with the Mets (1962–1963). As a manager he managed the Washington Senators from 1963 to 1967, and the New York Mets from 1968 to 1971.
