Most Consecutive North American Professional Sports Championships

Trivia Question

What team holds the record for the most consecutive professional sports championships in North America?

Trivia Question Answer

...

The NBA’s Boston Celtics hold the record for the most consecutive professional sports championships in North America with eight NBA titles from 1959 to 1966. This was in a run of 10 consecutive appearances in the NBA Finals (from 1957 to 1966) in which the Celtics won the championship nine times.

Two teams are tied for second on the list with five consecutive wins. The first are the NHL’s Montreal Canadiens who won the Stanley Cup five times in a row from 1956 to 1960. This was part of seven consecutive appearances in the Stanley Cup Finals in which the Canadiens went 5 and 2.

The other team with five consecutive championships are the New York Yankees who won the World Series five times in a row from 1949 to 1953. Interestingly the New York Giants won the World Series in 1954, the Brooklyn Dodgers won it in 1955, and the Yankees won it again in 1956 so the World Series Champion was from New York eight years in a row.
