The first World Series shutout came in game 2 of the first World Series in 1903. Boston Americans (now Red Sox) pitcher Bill Dinneen blanked the Pittsburgh Pirates 3 to 0. Dinneen duplicated the event in Game 8 of the World Series getting the second World Series shutout also by a score of 3 to 0.
